Sidney “Joe” Friedl passed away early Sunday morning, February 28, 2010 at Walnut Grove in Morris.Visitation is 4 – 8 Friday, March 5, 2010 at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd. Glenview, IL  60025.  Funeral Mass will be Saturday,  10:00 A.M.,  at St. Norbert Parish, 1809 Walters Ave., Northbrook, IL, with internment at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.Born February 26, 1921 in Glasgow, MT., he was the son of Richard and Anne Friedl. He was raised in Glasgow, working in the family clothing store, graduating from Glasgow High School in 1939. He attended Loyola University and graduated from Northwestern University after WWII. A veteran, he served in the Montana National Guard, Patton’s Third Army as an officer, and also as an officer in Indiana during the Korean Conflict.His working life was spent in the men’s clothing industry, mostly as a sales representative, primarily for Troutman Industries. He and his wife Peggy raised their children in Evanston, IL, retiring to Northbrook, IL.Surviving are three children, Mary Jo (James) Schuster of Morris, IL, Catherine Z. Friedl, of New York, NY, and Margaret (Richard) Keshen of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Anne Wagner of Sheboygan, WI, Daniel Keshen of Schaumburg, IL, Phil Keshen of Normal, IL, Peter Keshen of Des Moines, IA; Anthony  and Patrick Schuster of Morris, IL; former daughter in law, Barbara Waedekin of Oshkosh, WI. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret (Jongleux) Friedl, his son Richard, his daughter, Helen (Friedl) Wagner, his four brothers and one sister.
